WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY TO OBSERVE EARTH DAY ON APRIL 22
Energy efficient light bulbs, solar cars, and environmentally safe water bottles will be among the items used to educate the community by students, faculty, and staff at William Paterson University as part of the University’s Earth Day observance to be held in the Multipurpose Room in the John Victor Machuga Student Center on campus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22.
At 11:30 a.m., a number of representatives from various environmental organizations including Clean Energy of New Jersey, Green Faith, and Project Porchlight, will speak. Greg Mattison, a multimedia specialist, instruction, and research technology at William Paterson, and a trained volunteer of Al Gore’s Climate Project, will host a presentation. Members of Earth First, a student group, will also be on hand.
Small solar cars, built by Richard Pardi, a professor of environmental science, and his students, will be raced at 2 p.m.
