William Paterson University Foundation Announces First Golf Outing
—Scheduled for September 14, 2009 at North Jersey Country Club
The William Paterson University Foundation is initiating a new fund-raising event this year with its inaugural golf outing. This year’s event will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009 at the North Jersey Country Club in Wayne, N.J. A shotgun start will take place at 12:30 p.m., and will be preceded by a buffet barbecue lunch, putting contests and use of the putting green and practice range. The event is open to the public.
“At a time when financial support coming from the state is decreasing, we find ourselves, now more than ever, needing to identify new sources of funds to support programs of academic excellence and student success, and expand our donor base,” says Michael Seeve, president of Mountain Development Corp., and chair of the William Paterson University Foundation.
Registration will open at 11 a.m. The centerpiece will be a round of golf on North Jersey Country Club’s award-winning, championship, Walter Travis-designed golf course, one of the most challenging in the area. Prizes will be awarded to the top two men’s and women’s teams, using a Calloway scoring system and best ball format, with all golfers playing their ball all the way through. A long drive competition and other golfing competitions will enhance the playing experience for all participants.
The entry fee is $400 and includes a buffet barbecue lunch, round of golf, cart, forecaddies and an awards banquet and prizes. All participants will also receive a complimentary goodie bag with valuable golf-related gifts. For more information or to register, call Lourdes Bastas at William Paterson University at 973.720.3847 or visit the Foundation website at www.wpunj.edu/golf. A number of corporate sponsorship opportunities are also available.
