Free job training for people who are unemployed or those seeking job and career advancement is now available at William Paterson University through a $240,000 grant funded in part by North Jersey Partners and the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration.

The grant will provide job training for up to 200 participants who have a high school diploma, and have either worked or lived in eight New Jersey counties: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren.  Seven career tracks are available through the grant: a medical assistant program; medical billing and coding; QuickBooks; office management skills; Web design; digital graphics; and supervision, management and leadership.  The training is free to all participants who qualify.

North Jersey Partners is an innovative regional partnership of public, private, and government organizations collaborating to deliver programs, training and support to ensure the continuity of a skilled workforce to drive economic growth in northern New Jersey.   Funding is provided by the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration's Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) grant.

Programs are open now and run until January 2010.  All courses are taught at 1600 Valley Road, Wayne, NJ.  To apply or obtain additional information, please call Mary Ann Padula at 973-720-3698 or Colleen McGill at 973-720-2461 at the University’s Center for Continuing and Professional Education.
