WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY CHOIR TO PERFORM HOLIDAY MUSIC "The Christmas Oratorio" by J.S. Bach will highlight the program of vocal works to be presented by the William Paterson University Concert Choir on Tuesday, December 5 in a concert on the university's campus in Wayne. The choir, comprised of William Paterson students, faculty, staff and members of the community, will perform at 8 p.m. in William Paterson's Shea Center for Performing Arts. Admission is free. Directed by Stephen Bryant, associate professor of music and director of choral activities at William Paterson, the choir will perform with orchestra and soloists. Dr. Stephen Oosting of Montclair will perform as tenor soloist. Bryant, a bass-baritone, has accrued numerous oratorio and opera credits. He created the major role of Dante for the world premiere of Tan Dun's "Marco Polo," which he performed at the Munich Biennale, the Holland Festival in Amsterdam, the Hong Kong Arts Festival, New York City Opera, and with the Japan Philharmonic in Tokyo. The New York Times, in its review of the production, called it an "extraordinary work," adding that Bryant "made the vocalism and movement seem natural." A native of Princeton, Bryant received his bachelor's degree from Oberlin College and his master's degree and doctorate in voice and choral conducting from the University of Michigan. He resides in Upper Montclair. For additional information on the concert,
